More people have visited this page. Yet, my books are still with me. How can you resist them? I don't understand.
Here is an opportunity to learn a second language by reading the same words in Spanish as in English. Each is given
its own page
I know I am learning.
I can say:
Yo tango los libros. ¿Donde estavas tu?
About 10 WCSD elementary
level libraries have purchased SARAH'S STORY.
So far, the WC DOWNTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY has purchased
2 books about SARAH and 1 about CLOUDWOMAN from me. And the Spanish Springs Library has purchased SARAH'S
STORY.
All books have their own ISBN numbers. All books are registered and listed with bowkers.com and with Barnes
& Noble.
Books on Sarah Winnemucca are level 3 thru 6 th grade and on some pages, have textured drawings.
Books on Cesar Chavez are a blur and brush effect, taken from photos, and painted for a totally different
effect than in Sarah's book.
Methinks I shall make a t shirt with the covers of the books on them, aye? I shall be a walking
advertisement!
CLOUDWOMAN/LA MUJER NUBE
SHE TELLS HOW SNOW BEGAN

Do a right-click on your mouse sometime. You will see the words IM TRANSLATOR. Coolest translation spot in town, in
my opinion. It lets you 'back translate'...to check yourself out for sure.
Remember teachers: if you want to do free translations by using any free translation site, be aware that the translation is
most likely poor Spanish.
But, the good part is, if you go to a real live translator with a pre-translated piece of paper and ask their opinion
of it, most likely they will want to make corrections. 10cents a word is an acceptable price.
Here's the all-color version of JOURNEY TO JUSTICE
(It costs way too much on the lulu.com site--$30--I have no control over that, I am sorry.
This is a drawing on computer by a child
The drawings are the same. The text is the same. Only thing that differs is that the drawings are now tinted shades of gray.
This cuts the price of a book in half.
THIS IS EXACTLY HOW THE BOOK WILL LOOK
It will have a cover in color but all the drawings in black and white. It will only cost $10.
Every Elder IS a library
Every Elder has memories to share.
Directly above is the WORKBOOK TO JOURNEY
TO JUSTICE:MEMORIES OF THE ELDERS AMONG US. This is exactly like JOURNEY TO JUSTICE, only every page has a question to answer.
'¿Donde estavas tú?' or, in English, Where were you?
It is $10.
Be also aware that a print book is triple
the cost of an ebook or a cd ebook.
Click on a picture for a connection to
MY STOREFRONT. (Again, I apologize for the huge cost for Cesar all in color--IT WAS NOT OF MY DOING, HONEST!)
However,
I have a plan: New cover, same drawings, new approach, and I keep my color pictures...Heh,heh, heh...
This is an illustrated children's book on Sarah Winnemucca.
She is an important Piute woman of the 1800's. (Tell me another Indian woman who wrote and had her book published! Or
who started the first bilingual Indian school in Lovelock, NV, or who lectured from coast to coast on the wrongs and claims
of the Piutes!)
Title page for Cloudwoman in Spanish
Print books and ebooks gone bilingual-- English + Spanish and in color.
You can find these books on lulu.com if you put my name in the search machine on lulu's site.
However, doing these book all in color makes the book cost more--if I do books all in black and white, well, it is half
the price.
And I learned something: if I have an ISBN number for a book, then somehow the book goes international and the price
doubles.
That's what happened to JOURNEY TO JUSTICE. Soooooooooooooo, if you want that book for just $17.50, you have to order
it from me.
These are ready, now, if you call and order.
Order by emailing me or order by calling me: 775-772-6378
SARAH'S STORY~ A CHILDREN'S STORY ABOUT A REAL PIUTE INDIAN WOMAN WHO LIVED IN NEVADA. She met the invasion of the white
man, with fear and curiousity, grew up to learn many of their skills and faults, and spread the message of fairness promised
by this new government is to be met. She never gave up hope, until her own people gave up on her.
CLOUDWOMAN~ A fantasy tale of how snow came to be. It was simply a matter of sharing the clouds with the children of
the earth.

can then read back to the parent.
JOURNEY TO JUSTICE CESAR CHAVEZ A Mexican-American Hero
This is a children's book on one of the great heroes of our times. He fought unendingly for the rights of the farmworker.
He died April 23, 1993. Every child of Latino descent should praise and honor this man by knowing about him.
[grades 3 to 8th grade]
Spanish-English, on cd ebook, in both powerpoint and in adobe files.
Use the sites available online to translate, sure. But also,
consider buying a professional translation of a book!
I get my books--my very own stories that I write and illustrate--translated by a wonderful professional translator in
Argentina, Marina Trnka! (Oh the joy of the reach of the internet, yes?)
STOP! I have just learned that there is Argentina Spanish and then there is Spanish-Spanish...but then even more there
is Mexican Spanish. So on and so on.
Therefore now i get my work translated by a local woman who came Jalisco, Mexico, and translates into the local Spanish.
So far, CLOUDWOMAN and SARAH'S STORY have been translated and set up as ebooks. But also, they are books in print, now.
So too is Journey to Justice, and Workbook for Journey to Justice.
All of these are found at GEORGIA HEDRICK'S STOREFRONT BYTES! at lulu.com
To translate it will cost me money. So, I must earn some money to make this happen.
BUY A BOOK, PLEASE! I need to pay my bills.
Here is a booklet for teachers.
Lots of ideas, and how to's, thematic layouts on Chavez!
Respect this message!
De Colores , the song for all who speak Spanish
From Spain across the new world, down through all the Americas to Terra del Fuego, this song is know
Geometry is fun if...
you let the point dialogue with the line...
I do not understand the lack of push for two languages in this country, and a fluidity between them. It makes no sense to
me, that one group over here speaks English, and one group over there, speaks Spanish.
Why can't both speak both?????
Call my cell--772--6378.
If you have the cash, I will be there in a flash. (I can drive!) or if you live in some secret far away place you want
to keep secret, I can meet you and sell. My books are always with me, sorta like 'may the books be with you' syndrome.
I deliver--mainly because I have a rather large credit card bill to pay off, you see.
SLEEPING DRAGONS. 'Tis a tale of folklore, that only those who live in the desert can actually understand.
Grandfather and Boy fight the winds of the desert
It isn't easy.
When the winds stop, a fire can start.
Fire is near as old as Grandfather.
Sometimes, stories start because an elder has to explain some way of nature; or explain some event that occured suddenly.
A story is a great way of explaining the 'why' of life. Folktales do this in a clever and colorful manner.
They push ever onward
Sand and wind do not stop them
The dragon sleeps or so the ridge of mountains
seems to be as the scaley back of a dragon as he nestles in the earth.
Stories can be told around a campfire,
or in a circle, for a sense of togetherness.
But stories can also be written, on paper,
to be kept and read later. The latest way
to tell stories is to type them on a computer,
save them, illustrate them, and burn them all
on a disk.
This way, the story is forever. However,
someone has to have a cd player--in a car
or on a computer to see or hear the story.
This is a cd_ebook.
A teacher is not worth her salt if she does not
do what she asks of her students.
Therefore, the pictures on the story
of Sarah Winnemucca belong to this
teacher of ebooking students.
The first traveler Sarah saw had a full beard...
He stared at her and she thought he was an OWL!
Once, Sarah rode 220 miles nearly nonstop...
to rescue her family trapped by the Bannocks
The Story of Sarah is a story of unbelieveable toughness, courage, bravery and of a constant fight for truth and justice.
She fought for a place for her Piute people in the Justice system of this land.
What she met with were lies, labels, and broken promises. Namecalling the Native American population by the invader would
not make them disappear--they were not savages or red devils. They were human beings with a culture and a way of life they
had lived for thousands of years.
There is nothing great about frontiersmen and women who took away their land, and killed the basic food of the population
that was there, and then, killed them. There is nothing wonderful about ignoring another culture and blaming them for everything
that goes wrong.
Sarah is pensive and sad ...
It is the day her Grandfather died.
The drawing above is made with photos from the internet. Why not? That's part of being creative--using what is there, and
making it your own.
Here is one where the picture has been saved and transferred to a powerpoint slide. This will be the ebook format.
Another way to show the work of Cesar E Chavez !
Black and white pages make the book cost less.
Sometimes you can clip, copy and paste photos
Then you can overlay your title on your layout
NEW EBOOKERS WORK! BEHOLD! BE AMAZED!
MOUSE TRAINING IS THE KEY...CONTROL YOUR MOUSE AND DRAW WITH IT!
or buy an electronic tablet and stylus and draw with it as well!
This is a cover page for Sarah's Story
She tells the tale from how she remembers it.
Sometimes you can skate a pencil about and then...
